Day 25 Pierre SD to Chamberlain SD

Day 25

Well, we are at the halfway point of this ride across America. Seems hard to believe, but then this whole odyssey seems that way. The route today takes along the Missouri for awhile. The pic below is early in the morning and its beginning to warm up already. Here's yours truly sitting on his bike at the halfway point some 1800 plus miles from Astoria.

Here's a pic of Mike and his son Matt, from southern Cal. They broke a wheel a few days before and got a new one. Seems to work ok. These guys are really fast!

And Here he is again...standing in a wheat field at the halfway mark. Sort of a celebration of sorts...low key...but fun. Miles of wheat fields here. One of the guys was relieving himself...and you thought the Wheaties tasted funny? Hmmm....

And here's a sign I had to take a pic of...no explanation necessary...just a twinge of nostalgia...

Out in the middle of nowhere is a neat little store, Mac's Corner, where everyone had chocolate milk or Gatorade...biker fare...

And a view from the top of the plateau of the Missouri and then our final destination, Chamberlain, SD, in the distance. A nice ride of 83 miles today ending in 95 degree heat...where's the pool?
